There was a guy on IIS about 8 or so years ago who produced terrific images
with his DSLR doing huge stacks of 30sec subs. His norm was 3 or 4 hundred,
but I suspect he did a lot more sometimes. If by chance he sees this maybe he can tell us. Anyway, I'm sure someone has tried more than 1000.
