I run my 183mm in the Sky X and there is a driver on the ZWO website (semi hard to find).

It works well.

I use offset 8 (default) gain 53 for colour and gain 111 for narrowband.

I use 300 and 600 second exposures and perhaps 60 seconds for the brighter parts like RGB stars and bright parts of objects.

When you name your files add the temperature and the gain to it, eg:

M83 300 secs 1x1 -15C G53
meaning a 300 second exposure binned 1x1 at -15C and a gain of 53.

Don't change the offset or use several temperatures or it will become a mess.

Don't use bias frames. You can use flat darks meaning a dark at the same exposure length and temperature as the flat for use in making a master Flat.

These cameras are sensitive so watch the star colours are not blown out easily with too long an exposure.

They also have small wells so they saturate quickly. 600 seconds is about as long as you would want to go.

If your images have mostly white stars use shorter exposures.

The Amp Glow subtracts out well so long as temperature and gain is the same for your darks.

Otherwise these cameras are easy to use and very defect free.

Amp glow is minimal imaging brighter objects and worst on narrowband and longer exposures of dim objects.

Higher gain reduces the read noise so if you wanted to do many very short exposures and stack them then gain 111 may be the go. A bit of trial and error will sort that out.

Greg.
