I guess I was thinking of some older comparisons between the Nikon D800e when it first came out and a Pentax 645 medium format.

I just had a look at DPR's studio comparison tool. It looks like Pentax 645 and Fuji GFX50 are a tad noisier than the latest full frames. Make sense as full frame is where most of the R and D is being spent on digital cameras.
