Thanks Steve and Jeff, I appreciate your comments.
The jest stream map didn't look too promising but when I pointed the 'scope at the Moon, I was pleasantly surprised to see how steady the seeing conditions were.
However, within 15 - 20 mins they began to go down hill as the Moon sunk lower over neighbourhood roofs. I think that localised heat plumes affected the seeing.
