I have a Full, "full spectrum" modded 1000D, with both the colour correction and the front anti-alias/ dust shake filters removed.
For spectroscopy it's almost mandatory....
I agree the UV range is extended but, using conventional lenses etc, I didn't see results down to 320nm....probably around 350-360nm.
