Hi John. I have a telescope but its pretty big and heavy and setting it up is difficult for me at the moment. Its 26kg 12" RC. I am a beginner so am still learning lot. I want a spare scope that is lighter that I can set up more easily so I can practice tracking, camera use, sequence generating etc. But I want one that is a good scope and can be used in its own right as well and later maybe piggy back it with the new CDK light weight that I am building.
I have a Vixen eyepiece and I like the quality. Do you think this sounds like a good fit? Have you ever taken pics of DS through it?
I could fly up to Sydney and have a look in a week or so.
