Not quite an itch (a red car has kept me busy) but it was good to fire up the Obs' again.

The answer to, well everything, is of course (M) 42. ( plus I just wanted something big bright and easy to test the rig)

I probably would have got the same result at minus 25....but will happily conceed the lower noise will probably help narrow band images of the really faint stuff.

Much mo' betta were the download times. Virtually instant with the guide chip and around 5 seconds with the main imager.

Plus I discovered the STX also allows pre-flash the main chip to rid any RBI...oddly, none seen on the imaging chip, but the guider has it.

By the way...anyone got a spare set of 65mm Baader filters ?
