Jase, if it's true, it's no gimmick. 12 bits x 3 colours means 12 bits per colour - 12 bits for red, 12 for blue etc, or 36 bits per pixel. That is excellent IM(admittedly naive)O. A lot of cameras give just 12 bits per pixel - all three colours RGB compressed down to just 12 bits afaik. The full res raw files are going to be pretty big though - sg like 40+MB.
