I had the Canon version, focussing was quiet and accurate on my 20D, I bought the lens after reading a recommendation by Terry Lovejoy and finding a lot of favourable comment on the web. I'd still have it if it wasn't for the changing to a 5DII. BTW the F2.8 isn't constant it varies from F2.8 to f4.5 at the telephoto end, still respectable though.
