I have just given the SharpCap polar alignment tool a run using an old QHY5 guide cam on a short finder. I'm impressed in some ways but disappointed in another. I would prefer to have used my SBIG ST-i but its not supported and there does not seem to be any ASCOM driver for it yet. So I was stuck with the QHY5.
Nonetheless, SharpCap did its thing and got me to within one minute of SCP. Then fog rolled in so I haven't been able to test it in real conditions.
Does anyone know of a similar utility that will recognise my STi?
