No worries thanks Chris,
I think the second one is correct from what I have determined. I have now managed to confirm that the cable I have made up is correctly wired.
My handsets are at the latest version of firmware for this version of the handset...
Now troubleshooting a Dec motor issue & have my fingers crossed that it's not a bummed out encoder... my bargain may yet turn into a dud...
DEC cable is good, tomorrow I start opening up & cleaning internal connections very carefully...
