I'd be going with the 60D.
It's similar to it's bigger sibling, the 7D, which is a great camera IMO.
It has a swivel screen so it's handy for astro for those awkward angles and it also has the new electronic "spirit level" built it, which is also handy and fun to use for terrestrial.
Quality wise, I think you'll find the 60D a better choice all-round.
