I have a 8" f6 newtonian and had to move the primary mirror forward to get prime focus, but then found that some eyepieces would not focus for visual.
A 2x barlow lens and t mount worked on mine without moving the primary mirror, ok for imaging the moon and planets but it doubles the f ratio and a bit slow for deep sky imaging.
