Canon 5D is the holy grail almost. The most important attribute the 5D has is a full size sensor as opposed to the 2/3 size of the others (350D, 20D etc). That means standard 35mm focal lengths give the fov's we have come to expect from 35mm film cameras. I have a 20D but will be upgrading to a 5D or equivalent when the price reaches a reasonable level. I'm not sure that the 5D modified would be better as the larger frame may cause problems with vignetting.
