Interesting, but I don't think so.

True that with LIGHT, red plus green results in yellow, but if the filter is a simple yellow filter, I think the colour becomes a "colour" and not photonic properties, so the result would be YELLOW light, which when combined with the purple, would result in yakkiness

Have a look at RGB filters - to the eye = photons - they do not even look red, green or blue.

Besides, the RGB filters are broadband, with specific wavelengths that they either allow or deny through. The yellow filter and purple filter would have different wavelength block/pass characteristics to that of RGB (though I don't know which, but being that yellow and purple are not primary photonic colours,... well, I dunno .

What I am trying to say is, no, I don't think it would work, or they would do it already
