Hi Trev I just debayer to red and do the data rejection one channel only. There's a lot of noise that builds up in the green and blue and very little signal so by discarding the green and blue you have less noise to deal with than doing a data rejection on the red only.
In the past I did both methods of binning 2x2 and debayer to color directly. Didn't work as well for me.
