Using the Bintel Rig Simulator to decide on what camera to buy.

I didn't want to hi-jack Dylan's post with my post, but here is the link to his.

Dylan's Bintel Rig Simulator Post

Bintel Rig Simulator

This is basically a rambling brain dump of what i was thinking while playing the the Simulator.

I've been thinking at getting a ZWO camera and there are a few to choose from. Before I looked at the the rig simulator I was thinking about a 178MC, and thought the extra res would do me good. But the results show on my rig with that camera is Slight Oversampling, a value of .5 . If i turn the binning to 2x2 i get a more favourable .99, bring in the res down from 6.4Mp to 1.6Mp.

The 185MC however is 2.3Mp and larger pixels and get me a .77 on my current rig which sits in the "Ideal Resolution : 0.67" - 2" arcseconds" gives me a 1.93 on a 400FL F5, if i ever go there, so still in the bracket,

I hope i've interpreted the simulator correctly. If not let me know.

What would be cool is if you plugged in your gear and showed you the cameras that fit the Idea Resolution bracket.
