I can only relate to the Toucam. On one (Imaging) I use a normal 5m USB extension (total 7m) and on the other (Guiding) I use a boosted 5m USB extension (total 7m).
Both work fine.
I have recently connected a powered hub in the imaging USB line just in case.
Also, when I use the DSI-1c I HAVE to use both the Boosted USB cable AND the powered hub or she no work!
