My computer almost upgraded to Win 10 on Thursday night.
It didn't give me a way to opt out.
Many people I know have been "upgraded" to Win10 without their permission.
The solution -
I loaded this program called
never10 from Gibson research:
https://www.grc.com/never10.htm
It works well & removes the Win10 symbol in the task bar too.
