I notice they’re not showing any images full-size from this thing - and I’d want to see some before shelling out $3k. The scope is only an ED doublet and at f/5 that leaves me a bit dubious about image quality.

But as for the idea... i was thinking more solar eclipses. It’s pretty difficult to get an 80mm f/5 setup with a GOTO mount and battery and camera in a 7kg package that could travel by air.

Only snag is that by the time of the next decent solar eclipse worth travelling to this will be well and truly obsolete.

They should at least have used a commercial astro camera module that could be swapped later.
