Pentax 200mm F2.5 lens - first light

I recieved my Starlight-PentaxK adapter from Steve Mogg of "Mogg
Adpaters" yesterday. I can now shoot through my Pentax (K mount)
200mm F2.5 SMC camera lens. Steve sells a wide range of adapters and
other astro things for doing all sorts of stuff and he is a
Canberran like me so check out his site - link is under the images.

Unfortunately I can only use one filter at a time and the camera must
be disconected from the lens to change filters so full LRGB is
probably out of the question (although I may give it a bash if I'm
feeling energetic) but some B&W imaging and particularly Halpha stuff
will be fun with the 2.5deg X 1.9deg FOV using the relatively small
chip of the SXV-H9.

Bad gradients with this FOV under light poluted skies though :-( My
gradient exterminator by Rus Croman wouldn't do a clean job of
removing it so I didn't apply it in the end.

Here is the setup and first light image of 47 Tuc before clouds
rolled in. As usual the 47 Tuc image has no darks, no flats and no
image smoothing applied during processing :-)

Hope to have a bit of fun with this configuration and Halpha as the
moon gets bigger.

Mike
