Anyone did similar arrangements? How many batteries need to run a desktop comp and eq mount etc? Most of the chargers 30A ... any suggestions for brand? For winter how many panels need to get charged enough despite the clouds?

Thanks for any advice

Hi Mik,
I Have been off the grid for about ten years I,have 2 12v,200ah batteries two solar panels one 80 watts and one 40 watts,I have split them into two systems one battery runs the mount, cameras focuser dew heaters and the on board computer ,the other one runs the spare laptop wifi ,lights and is a back up for the main batteries .Every 3/6 months I run out mains power and give the batteries a good deep charge .Some times after I have finished for the night I will connect both batteries together and leave the lights on over night just run the batteries down past their normal power use to make the solar panels charge longer.
