Starry Sky Stacker and flats

Hi all.

I just purchased Starry Star Stacker formy Mac.
Seems like a more than capable program and pretty quick also.
I came across this tutorial today as I’m yet to introduce calibration frames.

https://sites.google.com/view/stacki...er-flat-frames

The program itself only allows light, dark and flat frames to be loaded. (Fine by me keeping it simple and I’m not after cutting edge results due to limited and basic equipment).
Wondering if any users or experienced photographers could shed some light on what the author of the tutorial means by adding dark frames to go with the flat-field frames if you desire a master flat.
This seems like they are referring to a dark-flat.
Does this seem correct?

Thanks for reading

Ben
