I use Sequence Generator Pro. It can use a few different plate solvers (I use a local astrometry.net server). Basically you hook up your mount, imaging camera and plate solver and SGP will take images, solve them and then adjust the mount until it gets to within a (user-specified) distance of the target. Simple as, and SGP is very reasonably priced.
