I used a synguider with reasonable success for quite a while. They’re a handy, portable option to get you started. The chip itself is not super sensitive and the response is not super quick so my advice would be to get a reasonable sized guidescope with a slightly longer focal length. I used mine with an 80mm F/5 that you can get from Astroanarchy for $100. You’ll need a short extension or diagonal to get it to come to focus too. As far as the two mounts goes, your goto Dobsonian will suffer from field rotation so I wouldn’t bother with using that setup. The EQ6 has a good payload capacity so it will easily handle the weight of the larger guidescope.
