Have to disagree Doug,
Live view has been a Godsend for me. Yes granted it works on brighter stars down to a limiting magnitude - but it makes getting a truly accurate focus a breeze for me. I find that using the fainter useable stars to assess focus is great as the star "disappears" either side of the focus sweet spot.

It's finding that useable star that's a pain - with the Tarantula Neb in the centre of the camera FOV, there are no stars bright enough to show up in the Live View window for example.

If the 450D is going to be around the 400D pricepoint, there are going to be some very happy imagers on this forum!

All the best
Doug
