I've been interested in the ZWO cameras for a while. With my ST-I out of action and in for repair I thought it might be interesting to compare the camera specs. I found it difficult to find a document from ST-I giving QE so I have just posted what I could find from the chip manufacturer. Is it possible (or fair) to compare the two frequency curves? And if so, how does "absolute QE" relate to QE(%)?

I also threw both chips into Ron Wodaski's CCDCALC. The FOV is identical for a given scope but the resolution is 2x with the ZWO camera. I'm wondering if being so over sampled would be a big negative to using this unbinned as a guide camera? On the other hand, would binning the ZWO (if possible??) lead to the same FOV but greatly increased sensitivity and not over sampled?

I'd appreciate any comments.

Thanks,
Peter
