I also use a DSLR (Nikon 5600), usually on a star adventurer either with a cheap lens or with a redcat and make a fairly blind use of Astropixel Processor to stack and mildly process my urban images and do some extremely basis/dodgy manipulation with GIMP, but as well as longer imaging time I need to learn a lot more tricks to get the images to have a more spacey dark background and the nebula to pop out a bit more from the star fields.
