Thanks Michaell, this storm originated at great depth but as it burst through the upper cloud layer of ammonium ice crystals it mushroomed over the top. probably this tail is due to a local upper jetstream. The latest news form the Cassini RPWS is that they have detected at least one other distinct storm. Watch this space as either Bird or I will be imaging at every opportunity.
