Thanks Russell, I think the Shoestring cable links explain the problems I have had with BYEOS. I was relying on the laptop usb connector to the camera - thinking it also provided the bulb control, after reading info on Shoestring's site I see that is not the case. Yet another thing to buy, plus extension of course, at astro prices: over $140 just for the adaptor and extension from Bintel to replace my $19 ebay intervalmeter. Is it feasible to use my existing intervalmeter to control bulb, delay, run exposures, etc and just use BYEOS for framing, focusing, etc? Framing is one of the major time consumers when setting up a run, as often I cannot see the object I am imaging through the finderscope, and have to do numerous test subs to frame it.
