WO were pretty useless for help on removing the knob on the single speed (thermometer) side. They said it was part of the shaft (which is made of a different material).
You need to remove the single silver grub screw in the black base on that side and then turn the knob to reveal the grub screws in the knob, there are 2 about 60 degrees apart.
