Jeremy, you want the polarizer between the eyepiece and quark, and just turn the eyepiece to adjust brightness. I don't have the quark, but do use the polariser this way on my Lunt LS60 and LS100 scopes. If placing at the very front of the quark, you would get the full heat load on the polarizer and risk damaging it, unless using an upstream ERF(towards objective).
