I'm surprised that there seems to me no way (at present) to directly utilise DSLR "realviews" (if displayed on the laptop) to impliment autoguiding , thus doing away with the need to buy a separate autoguider.
Maybe someone is doing this already and there is software and a hardware kit that allows you to this. Maybe I've not looked hard enough ?
Sounds like a nifty honours research project for someone doing their BE in electrical or computer engineering perhaps ....
