This truly makes a mockery of the saying "Life is what you make it"
These people were probably born into poverty or near poverty,with very little to no chance of their lives ever getting any better.
One can feel their resignation.
Most of the wealth of South American countries flows out of the countries, or is corralled by a small percentage of the population.
Generations of these people will be in the same boat 30-50 years from now.
