ANU successfully attempted this in August 2015. On that occasion, Fellows Oval, a small cricket ground, had a couple of thousand people on it and there was plenty of space. Last night, the same venue was packed pretty solid and it was hard to move through the crowd except by circumnavigating the less dense edge zones and then heading in. I guessed the crowd might have been in the range of 4000-6000. It was hard to tell because there were so many people. Great night!

I found out that the counting grid was that each registrant was assigned a zone. Each zone had 50 registrants assigned and there were 100 zones. If all filled up that is 5000 people.

Thanks to the official counters who had a very difficult time due to the dense crowd.
