Robofocus is repeatable and works to give the level of automation required to operate remotely. Coupled to FocusMax, you'll hit the critical focus zone of your imaging system time again.

Temp control is a waste of time. If you've got the right tools to automate focusing, the focus routine will be quick and efficient thus it is easier to simply refocus every so often. Fred highlights focus offsets which I'm also an advocate for. Other than refocusing between filter changes, focus offsets are the next best alternative. Save time allowing time for data acquisition...which can only be a good thing. Simply use the luminance/clear filter as the reference and calculate from there. These can be configured in most data acquisition tools such as MaximDL. Make sure you average your results over several runs to improve the accuracy of the offset calculation.
