I have noticed for a few non-DSLR cameras that you can get adapters to use EOS lenses on them, e.g.

Are these really just for the colour cameras or is there a way to use filters with them as well for the mono cameras? I assume they're made such that you connect camera -> adapter -> lens and get the right focus length? Is there some kind of filter holder that can sit inside the adapter?
