barnard 84

We had a few clear nights in succession a couple of weeks back. Not had any since though!
I got a few hours on Barnard 84. This is a dark nebula situated in Sagittarius. It gets called claw or dark scorpion, think i prefer the claw.

Dark nebula according to Wikipedia: are type of interstellar clouds that are so dense that they obscure the visible wavelengths of light from objects behind them, such as background stars.
Dark clouds appear so because of sub-micrometre-sized dust particles, coated with frozen carbon monoxide and nitrogen, which effectively block the passage of light at visible wavelengths.

You can also see lower left NGC 6440 a globular cluster

and just above middle to the left NGC 6445 a small planetary nebula.
