Spring Milky Way

A very wide field view of the southern Milky Way taken September 2018 at the start of the southern hemisphere spring. Image is panorama consisting of 2 rows of 7 panels each.

This was taken in the central west of NSW, Australia near the town of Nyngan. Location was about 15kms from Nyngan looking west towards the town and the setting Milky Way. We can see the planet Mars very proud and centre of the field of view and the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) in the top left and close by is the globular cluster, 47 Tucana.

Data captured with a Canon 60Da DSLR and Samyang 14mm lens.
