Well...I am now the proud owner of a brand new Canon 40D
Haven't had much chance to play with it, but it already looks to be a terrific camera.
It'll take me ages to work out all the features and I'll probably only use one tenth of them all...but it's good to know it's got enough grunt under the hood for whatever I ask of it.
As much as I would have loved to also buy either the 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM or 24-105 f/4L, I ended up exercising a little restraint and getting the 17-85 IS USM.
I decided I really needed a lens but couldn't justify the extra bucks with Xmas and New Year already here.
Not to mention it'll give me something to look forward to, rather than having all my dreams come true at once!!
The 17-85 will allow me to start practicing and using the camera, to justify the spending on a more exotic lens.
I also picked up a 4GB SanDisk Extreme III CF card (30MB/s) and Hoya HMC (UV-Guard) filter.
So...now I'm set, for terrestrial anyway.
Wonder what I need to buy to hook it up to my scope?
