I think the variety of cameras that can go in a DOB says it all, it can handle the weight easy easy enough. You can use all sorts of camera but without a barlow or extender you may have a problem with focal length.

The only challenge I had is lower down a late shot of the sun http://www.waelect.com.au/mswhin63/M...r/index.html#1 the weight of the camera was fine but the shield I used to shelter me and the camera from the sun gave way and I had to hold it up the scope. I also modified my bearing with roller ones and the friction level is way down compromising the friction adjustment on the scope.

I don't like being in the sun as suggested by the Sun thread on cancers. (Come on clear skies in winter)
