That's right - the movement doesn't affect making the avi because you can align the frames. Field rotation can come into play if the avi length is long enough (I noticed it in a 2min MOV of Saturn the other morning).
I'll see if I can post a video of an example of the tracking on the Sky-Watcher Dobsonian.
