NGC 6744 Pavo Galaxy
This is my 4th Galaxy captured with the new ZWOASI2600MC camera , NGC 6744 Pavo Galaxy , a 9.2 magnitude face on spiral in the constellation of Pavo
A really dense star field makes it difficult to process the image and make the Galaxy “pop out” although the spiral arms are quite defined
Captured about 3 hours ( 5 minute subs ) in this object over two nights , Friday and Saturday night where conditions were good
South coast NSW weekender Bortle 3 skies , no moon
8” f5 Bintel GSO newt on an EQ6-R mount
PHD2 guiding at 0.80 arc sec error total
Used no darks in processing even though I took them
No flats
Camera setting Ascom Highest Dynamic Range, cooled to -15C
Goto and tracking EQMOD StellariumScope and Stellarium
Frame focus and capture APT
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.6 OSC Linear data set
Star colours were a bit to rich, especially the blues , should have backed off the bias a little bit
Overall fairly happy with the image , not an easy target for my equipment
