Yes it is a very bright core. I took 300 second exposures for this because of that and measured the brightness of a sub before I committed to it.
As to a black hole in their, its a bit like a Wombats dugout - would you stick your head inside and look around? There must be one otherwise whats holding it all together so tightly packed?
