The link is very useful.
One interesting comment there was "Quite often people mistake a hot pixel readout as a column defect. That will appear as a bright line that goes from the bottom of the frame to a point short of the top. That will be removed with a proper calibration." That fits with what we are seeing.
Waiting on a clear night so we can capture some real shots.
