Thanks for the answers. The reason I asked was a post I read today on the Maxim Yahoo discussion group by Terry Platt of SX Cameras:
"Colour flats need to be filtered to remove the colour information (the chequering). This is usually done with a 2x2 ‘Boxcar’ filter – this can be created in the ‘User’ filter mode by setting the four top left corner cells to ‘1’."
I don't use Maxim to process so I don't know what a Boxcar Filter is but it got me thinking about the issue hence this post.
