What do you mean that Saturn is a challenge for scopes under 10" ??
This year we had a couple of nights of excellent medium to high power visuals of Saturn in TSA120, TEC200 and TOA150 which showed significant detail, colour and banding.
On later nights with the same scopes the views were horrid.
So I would suggest its more seeing related than anything to do with a 10" + scope.
