Forum chat suggests that its really just a 550D with an articulated LCD screen. You can get yourself a 550D body (generic) for about $650 on ebay. Is the moveable LCD screen worth the $500 more?

The "movie digital zoom" on the 600D does sound like an interesting upgrade though.
