I sensibly decided to arrive on Saturday. Still very cloudy and light rain. But by around 7pm the sky was clearing and at midnight the transparency was superb. With my 106mm I was picking up 11th mag galaxies in the northern sky as if it was an 8" scope anywhere else. This is why I go to Wiruna.
Next night, Sunday was also clear. Sure, numbers were down this year, but it was good to meet up with other IIS members. Steve (Tinderboxsky) picked up an award for his well thought out mods on his TRex mounted Vixen 140. Congratulations Steve, a pleasure to meet you.
