Chris, my Canon S3IS has the flip out screen and I love it. I use it all the time.
It's great for macro work, shooting over the tops of crowds etc. To have this feature on a DSLR being used for AF, wow, that would be super handy. I keep the legs of my mount as short as possible for greater stability, and that means I'm always having to get down and dirty on the ground when focusing and framing shots. (oh the things we do for our art
) The flip screen would be a huge selling point for me.
